Copying PS1 Games – It Is Possible
Monday, June 29th, 2009There are still many people out there owning a PS1. PS1 games are already old and this is why many users ask themselves: Is it possible to copy PS1 games? It is possible to copy PS1 games with very few modifications to your system. The only hardware requirement is a computer and a CD burner. Only few PS1 users are awar eof the fact that old PS1 games can be read directly by most computers. Once you have done that you simply need to take the files off of the CD and re copy them back onto a blank one.
Mount the CD with some kind of software like Daemon to extract the information off, then use a program like Nero to burn the ISO back on. At this point the CD will not play on your PS1 yet. In order to make the system be able to read the disks you are going to need to put a mod chip on it. For the most part these can be found easily and cheaply these days.
Once the chip is on you can read off of any burned CD and will have defeated the security system on the PS1. Be careful, because playing games you downloaded illegally can result in legal penalties. If you are using the mode chip and disks to play games you own you will be fine.
You will only run into problems if copying PS1 games which you don’t actually own already. By doing this I gave life back to my collection of old PS1 games that were unplayable because of scratches. By modding the PS1 and getting copies of the games I can now play all the old games that had become unplayable because of the scratches and damage.
You can also copy PS1 games with some mouse clicks by using a game copy software. For a review of the best game copy software visit my lense at: How To Copy Games
