Warlock Leveling Guide – The Glyphs That Help You Level Faster

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

Do you want to get to level 80 as fast as possible? There are many ways to cut corners and save valuable time to level faster. A Warlock leveling guide will show you an excellent way to increase your leveling speed with minimal effort.

Any good leveling guide should point out that the Affliction built is the only way to level very fast. That’s why I’m going to focus on the optimal major glyphs to increase your Affliction potential and increase your leveling speed.

Now, first of all let me repeat when the glyph slots are unlocked:

You get your first major glyph slot when you hit level 15. You get your second one at level 30 and the third one at level 80.

Now, on to the major Glyphs for faster leveling!

When you hit level 15 you get to choose for the first time. Which Glyph will support you the most? You can decide whether you want Glyph: Corruption or Glyph: Curse of Agony as your first Glyph.

Now, Corruption will stack with the talent “Nightfall”. At this point, you won’t have any talent points there. A good warlock leveling guide will show you how to spend your talent points in the most effective way. Curse of Agony on the other hand is one of your most used skills. That’s why I recommend you to go for Glyph: Curse of Agony first.

At level 30 you have to decide again: Corruption will certainly help you kill mobs faster, the mana breaks it leads to can suck up a lot of your time. If you don’t have to take mana breaks, choose Corruption for it’s synergetic effect with Nightfall.

You can also get Siphon Life first – it will be of great use because it increases your mana/health efficiency.

I hope you got some value from my warlock leveling guide for the perfect Affliction leveling glyphs! Come back later for more valuable information.

World of Warcraft Warlock Guide

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Warlocks are one of the most unique classes in WoW with their unique and sometimes gruesome ways of dealing with enemies. In this WoW Warlock guide I’ll introduce some of their defining attributes and weaknesses.

Warlock get their power from dark magic such as Fire and Shadow magic. They use this power to destroy enemies, sometimes in extremely brutal ways. Unlike other powers that kill quickly, the Warlock instead prolongs the killing process in order to cause as much pain as possible. Their abilities go beyond just killing. They can use their power to not only protect other players but actually use portals to transports player to and from other places in the world. Below you’ll find a quick look at some of their abilities. Learn more about the Warlock in the World of Warcraft Warlock Guide

  • A cool thing they can do is call on minions to give them an edge in battle. This can be one of the biggest challenges of playing a Warlock since you’ll need some really good playing abilities in order to target multiple enemies and control your minion all at once. The first minion you’ll be able to summon are known as the Imp and will allow you to cause more damage and help you live through battle. Once you reach level 10 you can summon the Voidwalker minion which are great when you’re tanking. As you level you’ll get access to more of these minions.
  • As I mentioned, Warlocks can also protect with their magic. The Healthstone is something they can create in order to heal other players.
  • Once at level 30 Warlocks can summon a demon mount called a Felsteed and at level 60 the Dreadsteed.
  • Lastly, they can actually drain the life from their enemies and restore their own health.

Heres a list of some of their disadvantages.

  • One being the fact they can only wear cloth armor.
  • Secondly they have almost no Melee ability.

One thing to know is that many of the spells I’ve mention require “Soul Shards”. Learning to create and use these can be a challenge.

When it comes to healing, Warlocks have pretty limited abilities. So having a profession like Herbalism which gives you some healing skill will be really useful. They can however use Soulstones in order to resurrect fallen allies.

Hopefully this WoW Warlock guide introduced you to the Warlock class and gave you some good insights. Their incredibly fun to play but tough to master.

Warlock – The Fierce Enemies

Monday, October 26th, 2009

If you decide to role a Warlock, rest assured that you will have plenty of fun. They are dark casters that use fire and shadow spells to devastate their opponents.  Since they are interested for the “dark arts”, they are highly skilled in demonology. With demonology they can summon powerful demons, for example imps, fel hounds, succubus, infernals and void walkers. This makes the Warlock one of the two classes (Hunter being the second one) that is able to have a pet at his side at almost all times.

Moving through the game will be a lot easier if you have a pet around you since he will take most of the damage that comes your way. When it comes to their offensive abilities, Warlocks are damage dealers and their main spells, like shadow bolts, can cause a lot of damage. However, spells that made Warlocks famous are definitely spells that cause “fear” in other targets making them flee. On top of that the Warlock has several “damage over time” spells (DoTs) which deal good amounts of damage over a specific amount of time. Click here to watch the video: Warlock Guide

Because of these spells, a good Warlock is feared in PvP, and can top damage meters in PvE. The basic assignment of a Warlock in PvP is to fear his targets while at the same time he applies dots, while in PvE he is most likely to use his Shadow Bolt.

The Warlock has a large variety of spells and skills. One of the most frequently used skills is to summon a Dark Portal. This portal is used to summon players located anywhere on the map to the location of a Warlock. However, in order for this spell to work, a Warlock will need help from a few other players in his group. The Dark Portal can basically be used similar to the meeting stones that can be found in front of instances.

The Warlock also has the ability to put a Soul Stone on other players as well as on himself. If he or any other player has a Soul Stone applied he will be able to resurrect if he dies, right on the spot. This spell comes very useful because it saves time of corps running and it has a cooldown of 30 minutes. For a Lock, the Soul Stone is great while leveling and while in a party or raid the Soul Stone is usually applied to any player who can resurrect other players upon death (healer). Warlocks are also known for their ability to produce Health Stones which are used similar as the healing potions but they restore even more health. On lower levels, a Lock is able to give these Health Stones separately to other players while on a higher level he can even create a special well – the Soul Well where his whole raid group can obtain a HS just by clicking on it. In a fight that is longer, Health Stones come in as really handy since they don’t share the same cooldown as the health potions.

As you can see, the Warlock class is great to play. Not only that you will have the abilities to summon many different demons as pets to fight for you, you will also have very destructive and strong damage spells, abilities to fear the enemies, and a couple of other very useful spells that will greatly improve your group’s performance. If you like to play with casting classes and want an easy time leveling up, the Warlock class is a great one to chose!
