WoW Blacksmithing – Crafting Plate & Mail Armor and a Lot of Other Goodies

Blacksmithing is one of the crafting professions that are available in the World of Warcraft. As a Blacksmith you will need a Blacksmithing Hammer which can be bought at any of the general good or trade supply vendors. Another thing you should do is learn the Blacksmithing profession from a Blacksmith trainer and you should also return to him frequently to learn new and better Blacksmithing plans. What you need in order to level up Blacksmithing are the different kinds of ore that can be found in the World of Warcraft. It would be a wise decision to choose the Mining profession as well because this would allow you to mine a lot of ore which you can use to level your Blacksmithing without much costs which beats buying all the ores for outrageous prices on the AH.

Blacksmithing is actually quite easy to level up as long as you have access to the much needed ores. You will be able to make great items with Blacksmithing. At the start you will be learning to make different kinds of Mail Armor and Weaponry. As you level it up higher you will start making Plate Armor while still learning new weapons as well. Because you will mainly be making Mail and Plate Armor this profession suits Warriors, Paladins and Death Knights perfectly because they can wear Mail Armor up to level 40 and can then start wearing Plate Armor. At some point your Blacksmith trainer will set you off on a quest to become either a Weapon or Armor specialist.

No matter which decision you make you will still learn quite an amount of both Armor and Weaponry Blacksmith plans. You will however gain access to patterns that allow you to craft rare items. The choice isn’t that heavy though because you will still be able to create most of the good stuff that the Blacksmithing profession offers you anyway.

At a later level Blacksmithing is very nice because you will be able to create a lot of epic plate armor and special epic weaponry. These can be used by the Blacksmith himself or sold for nice amounts on the Auction House. Besides epic armor and weapons you can also create Belt Buckles. These are used by almost every level 80 player so there is a business for these. Once applied on a belt, a socket will appear in the belt and a gem can be placed in there to make the belt better.

As a Blacksmith you have the advantage of being able to create Socket Gloves and Socket Bracer. You can apply these two on your gloves and bracers to create a socket in your Bracers or Gloves which will also allow you to place a gem in them. Socket Bracer and Socket Gloves can only be applied on the Blacksmith himself so these cannot be traded which might not be good for the money but it does gives the Blacksmith an edge over others that do not have professions in combat.

Blacksmithing can make your leveling easier and more fun. If you choose to make Mining your second profession Blacksmithing is quite easy and cheap to level though you can make nice amounts of money out of money out of it at later levels.
